Agartala, April 20 (NationPress) The head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mohan Bhagwat, has arrived in Agartala to take part in the Prana Pratishtha ceremony at the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple in Mohanpur, West Tripura, scheduled for April 21.
This significant ceremony will occur on Tuesday at Fakira Mura in Mohanpur, aligning with the celebration of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti.
Amit Rakshit, the President of the Chinmaya Seva Trust under Chinmaya Mission International, mentioned that both the Prana Pratishtha and Kumbha Abhishekam rituals will be performed, attracting numerous devotees and spiritual enthusiasts from the surrounding areas.
Several esteemed guests are expected to grace the occasion, including Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Manik Saha. The participation of Mohan Bhagwat and other dignitaries is anticipated to elevate the significance of the event.
Rakshit emphasized that the temple is a remarkable spiritual edifice dedicated to Maa Tripura Sundari. Constructed with 27 black stone pillars sourced from Tamil Nadu, the architecture symbolizes the 27 Nakshatras in Hindu astrology.
Importantly, the temple features an open design without a traditional roof, symbolizing an unobstructed connection with the divine.
The sanctum houses a 15-foot black stone idol of the deity, alongside a smaller idol replicating the renowned Tripura Sundari Temple for daily rituals. The temple complex also displays inscriptions of Saundarya Lahari and other devotional scriptures, enriching its spiritual and cultural significance.
Rituals will be officiated by priests from Nepal, selected through a meticulous process, ensuring authenticity and adherence to traditional practices.
This Tuesday's ceremony is poised to be a pivotal moment in the spiritual landscape of Tripura, merging devotion, heritage, and architectural beauty. With national leaders and spiritual figures gathering, Fakira Mura is set to become a center of faith and cultural pride.
Additionally, the historic Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas in Hinduism, is located in Udaipur, within the Gomati district of southern Tripura.
Under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive Scheme from the Union Tourism Ministry, this 524-year-old shrine has recently undergone redevelopment, costing over Rs 54 crore.
The central government contributed Rs 34.43 crore, while the Tripura government allocated Rs 17.61 crore for the initiative.
Established in 1501 by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya, this temple stands as a prominent Shakti Peetha in India, ranking third in eastern India after the Kali temple at Kalighat in Kolkata and the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.
Following 517 years of royal governance, the princely state of Tripura officially merged with the Indian Union on October 15, 1949, through an agreement between Kanchan Prabha Devi and the then Governor-General of India.
