Bhopal, April 15 (NationPress) Emphasizing the need for strict deadlines and expedited processes, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh urged officials on Wednesday to quicken the pace of renewable energy initiatives, focusing on providing affordable electricity to both farmers and the general public in the region.
In a review session with the New and Renewable Energy Department held at his office, the Chief Minister articulated that attaining energy security necessitates a disciplined approach to implementation and a strong sense of accountability.
"Our goal is to ensure affordable power for everyone. Departments must establish timelines and guarantee that goals are met within the designated timeframes to achieve prompt and effective outcomes," stated Chief Minister Yadav.
He highlighted that enhancing solar infrastructure, particularly for farmers, is essential for lowering energy costs and ensuring a reliable supply.
Yadav set an ambitious goal of connecting over 200,000 farmers with solar pumps by the end of the current fiscal year and requested officials to provide comprehensive support to beneficiaries.
Additionally, the Chief Minister advocated for an expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, noting that increasing rooftop solar usage can alleviate grid pressure while providing benefits to households.
Focusing on administrative efficiency, he instructed departments to evaluate and elevate annual targets based on demand, ensuring that the maximum number of beneficiaries are reached as quickly as possible.
CM Yadav further emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination on critical projects, including the planned 2,000 MW renewable energy park in Morena, stressing that the state's interests must be prioritized.
Meanwhile, he highlighted that urban local bodies can enhance their revenues through improved waste management and solar projects, directing the organization of a training program in Bhopal to build their capabilities.
Officials revealed that solar energy projects are rapidly expanding throughout the state, with significant efforts underway to boost installations and enhance access to reliable, low-cost electricity.
