Key Takeaways
Bhopal, March 24 (NationPress) BJP's Mohan Yadav, currently the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, is set to celebrate his 61st birthday on March 25.
Born on March 25, 1965, in Ujjain, Mohan Yadav has a background in law and has played a significant role in the political landscape of Madhya Pradesh.
He was a minister in the cabinet under former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from 2020 until 2023.
After winning the Ujjain South Assembly seat for the third consecutive time in November 2023, he took office as Chief Minister on December 13, 2023.
Mohan Yadav succeeded Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is now the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare.
On his birthday, he plans to release a dozen turtles into the Bamner River at the Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve.
In addition, he will inaugurate a soft-release boma designed for the rehabilitation of cheetahs in the tiger reserve.
This initiative is part of the state government’s strategy to establish Rani Durgavati Sanctuary (Nauradehi) as the third cheetah sanctuary in Madhya Pradesh, following Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary over the last three years.
Plans to relocate some cheetahs from Kuno National Park were finalized a few months ago, with preparations currently underway.
The government has announced that cheetahs will soon be transferred from Kuno to Nauradehi.
Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve (Nauradehi) is the largest tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh, covering an area of 2,339 square kilometers and encompassing 72 villages across Sagar, Damoh, and Narsinghpur districts.
It is the seventh tiger reserve established in Madhya Pradesh and the 54th in India, officially designated as a tiger reserve in 2023, and currently houses 32 tigers.
Known as the land of wolves, this sanctuary has one of the highest populations of wolves and features terrain conducive to cheetahs, reminiscent of South African landscapes.
Moreover, the sanctuary is home to approximately 240 species of birds, making it a significant attraction.
A diverse range of wildlife resides within the tiger reserve, including tigers, leopards, wolves, bears, jackals, hyenas, foxes, wild boars, nilgai, four-horned antelope (chousingha), blackbuck, chinkara, turtles, and crocodiles.
