Mumbai, Oct 6 (NationPress) Television actor Mohit Maalik shared insights on his long-standing decision to steer clear of mythological roles.
In a heartfelt discussion about his career choices, he explained his reluctance and what finally inspired him to delve into this genre. In a recent Instagram update, Mohit disclosed that he had consciously avoided mythological characters for years, as he felt no personal affinity with their typical depictions—grand, glossy, and almost untouchable.
Despite this distance, he always held a profound connection to Lord Shiva. Posting pictures of himself in character, Mohit expressed, “There are some stories that find you, rather than you pursuing them. Some journeys come to you when you stop running from them. I never imagined I would agree to portray Shiva. For a long time, I turned down mythological roles because I struggled to relate to their usual representations… grand, glossy, almost untouchable. Yet, deep within, Shiva remained present. I have talked about him, dreamed about him, and envisioned how I would represent him if the opportunity arose.”
“When Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki was offered to me, it felt as if fate had been listening. This journey aligns perfectly with my earlier imaginings. The show does not depict Shiva as a distant god; instead, it presents him as a figure who experiences pain, questions existence, loves, breaks down, and rebuilds. A Shiva who is relatable. A Shiva we can connect with.”
He continued, “From the look tests to the first day on set, through late-night shoots, every moment, every silence, every prayer has been filled with authenticity. I am thankful to the entire team, our producers, directors, and everyone behind the scenes for courageously narrating this story in a new light. My gratitude extends to @anir_pathak for envisioning this and believing in me, @nissarparvez and @alind77 for their immense patience in bringing this to life, @tusharjb for pouring his heart into this project, and @sandycinecam_photography for beautifully capturing the essence of the show. I also thank @shrenuparikhofficial for being my Parvati and every cast and crew member for their dedication.”
The star of 'Kulfi Kumar Bajewala' concluded, “I’m uncertain if I chose to embody Shiva or if he chose me. However, I firmly believe that some journeys are meant to be lived, not merely acted out. Now, it’s time to share this journey with all of you. This is more than just a story… it’s a journey of devotion, emotion, and self-discovery. Let’s showcase how it’s done.”
