New Delhi, Jan 26 (NationPress) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) serve as a powerful mechanism for job creation in India, with Minister for MSME Jitan Ram Manjhi stating that there is no better avenue for prosperity than MSMEs. The minister emphasized their substantial impact on the economy.
“They enhance prosperity and, after agriculture, are the second-largest contributors to economic growth. Their role is both crucial and decisive,” he noted during a session with MSME beneficiaries who were honored as ‘Special Guests’ at the Republic Day Parade 2026.
Invited guests included 100 beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, 199 artisans trained under the Khadi Vikas Yojana, 50 recipients of the SRI Fund, and 50 outstanding women artisans from the Mahila Coir Yojana, all accompanied by their spouses, as recognized by the Ministry of Defence.
Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for MSME, expressed, “Seeing all of you here feels like a ‘Mini India’.”
“You represent various regions, yet we are united as one. I extend my gratitude to the Prime Minister; it is under his leadership that you are receiving this opportunity. Multiple schemes are being developed to ensure your benefit, alongside ongoing training and skill development initiatives,” Karandlaje added.
S.C.L. Das, Secretary of the Ministry of MSME, noted that the nation's progress is attributed to their contributions.
“Our strength lies in our diversity, and the Ministry of MSME will consistently engage with you to ensure that other beneficiaries also advance. We offer our heartfelt congratulations to each of you,” Das stated.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme is a comprehensive initiative designed to provide all-encompassing support to artisans and craftspeople involved in 18 traditional trades.
