You Mentored Us Like a Senior: Mudra Scheme Beneficiaries Share Their Journey as PM Modi Says 'Small Steps Transform Lives'

New Delhi, April 8 (NationPress) In a significant dialogue commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conversed with numerous beneficiaries from various parts of India.

This interaction, hosted at PM Modi's residence, provided an opportunity for beneficiaries to recount their individual success narratives, showcasing the life-altering influence of Mudra loans on their personal and professional endeavors.

During the meeting, PM Modi highlighted that a substantial portion of the loan recipients and repayers are women, indicating a remarkable change in India’s entrepreneurial environment. "In Mudra Yojana, it is enlightening to observe that the majority of beneficiaries, loan applicants, recipients, and repayers are women; this signifies a new realm where the true potential of 'Viksit Bharat' resides".

One notable beneficiary, Rana Das from Nagaland, who operates K9 World, a pet service enterprise, expressed his gratitude towards PM Modi for the Mudra loan that enabled him to expand his business.

"I wish to express my thanks, sir, for your support, which has empowered NGOs and independent social workers to advance their missions," remarked Das. PM Modi motivated him to present his achievements to the banks that issued him the loan.

"Demonstrate to them that the confidence they placed in me has yielded positive outcomes and is facilitating progress," PM Modi encouraged.

Another participant, Gopikrishnan from Kerala, shared how the Mudra Yojana completely revolutionized his business and generated job opportunities. When PM Modi inquired about his apprehensions before securing the loan, Gopikrishnan recounted how he overcame them, underscoring the government's assistance to small entrepreneurs.

PM Modi also engaged with a young woman, the founder of House of Puchka Kitchen, regarding her perceptions on youth entrepreneurship. She noted that while many young individuals struggle with ideas, government initiatives like Mudra offer crucial support. "PM Modi is remarkably humble and courteous; his guidance felt like that of a senior rather than a Prime Minister. He was incredibly approachable," she shared.

A female entrepreneur managing a bakery expressed her appreciation for PM Modi’s backing of the MSME sector. "Sir, I want to share my own 'Mann Ki Baat' just like you do. Thank you for elevating MSMEs. I run a bakery and generate a monthly turnover of Rs 2 to 2.5 lakh," she disclosed.

Another beneficiary voiced concerns about the apprehensions surrounding loan repayments.

"Mudra Yojana is not intended for accolades towards Modi, but rather to empower the youth of our nation to create job opportunities for others," PM Modi asserted, encouraging the youth to leverage such schemes without hesitation when approaching banks for assistance.

A young beneficiary from Gujarat recounted how the Mudra loan aided him in pursuing his aspirations despite being warned about the loan process being lengthy. "I approached the bank, articulated my ambitions, and even though I was advised to gain work experience first, I pursued my passion. Now I earn approximately Rs 34-35,000 a month and I am grateful to you, sir," he stated.

A woman from a farmer's background who once faced poverty shared her experience of launching a business with the support of the Mudra Yojana. "I used to ponder over each meal. I started my business in 2024 and now earn Rs 60,000 monthly. I am independent due to your scheme," she expressed, overflowing with gratitude towards PM Modi.

"I aspire to instill faith in every common citizen of my country. They might encounter challenges, but they must believe in their ability to surmount them and achieve success. This is a quiet revolution fostering progress among the populace," PM Modi remarked, emphasizing how the Mudra Yojana is empowering ordinary Indians.

"The MUDRA scheme, which has disbursed loans totaling 52 crore, is a definitive indication of the government's commitment to creating economic opportunities for the general populace," PM Modi stated.

In praising the individuals, PM Modi noted, "My fellow countrymen have never betrayed my trust; rather, they have fortified it. This is why I was able to expand the scheme from Rs 5 lakh to 20 lakh. This growth is a result of the trust and actions of the people."

"No one here received funds through MPs or MLAs. Each of you obtained loans independently, aimed at your improvement. This demonstrates that the government is striving to boost the economy and provide opportunities for all," the Prime Minister asserted, adding, "You might have read in the news; they claim it’s a government for the wealthy. However, even if you sum up the total wealth of all the affluent, it won’t reach Rs 33 lakh crore. That much has been entrusted to the common populace of my country."

"This initiative has reached its 10-year milestone. Typically, governments hold press conferences, make announcements, and light diyas. However, this government gauges the scheme's progress by soliciting feedback from the people and identifying necessary adjustments," PM Modi concluded.

He encouraged beneficiaries to promote awareness about the initiative: "During my time in Gujarat, I witnessed a street performance by children illustrating how they overcame poverty with the aid of a loan, established a company, and ultimately succeeded. This exemplifies how even small strides can transform lives," he stated.

"We must advance the people of this nation, leading to nation-building. I have faith that all of you will continue to uplift many individuals," PM Modi said.

Since its inception in April 2015, the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) has sanctioned over 52 crore loans amounting to Rs 32.61 lakh crore, fueling a nationwide entrepreneurial revolution.
