New Delhi, April 1 (NationPress) The Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) held an Interfaith Sadbhawana Eid event at Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah. The initiative aimed to promote a message of love, peace, and harmony across various faiths.
This occasion provided a wonderful platform to express solidarity with the Muslim community as they celebrated the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. Esteemed spiritual figures from Sikh, Christian, Hindu, Jain, and Buddhist communities participated, extending their Eid Mubarak wishes to Muslims on behalf of their respective faiths.
During the gathering, Peer Khwaja Farid Ahmed Nizami, who is the President of the Sufi Cultural Organisation and the Sajjadanashin (spiritual leader) of Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah, emphasized the significance of the event. He stated, “This gathering symbolizes brotherhood and commitment among all faiths. We have united at this sacred site to wish Eid Mubarak to the Muslim community and to propagate the ideals of peace and unity in society.”
Paramjit Singh Chandhok, Chief Advisor of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, remarked, “This event is a moment of great joy. Regardless of whether we identify as Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, or belong to any other religion, we are all citizens of the same nation. Celebrating festivals together highlights the unity and diversity of our country. Last year, we hosted an Iftar party during Ramadan, and this year we are commemorating the Eid Milan program.”
Prof. Himani Sood, Co-founder of IMF, added, “Today marks a significant day for us as we collectively pray for our nation’s progress and the well-being of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This event transcends mere celebration of Eid; it is a celebration of our unity and diversity. Additionally, we are addressing the importance of the Waqf Bill during this occasion, which is essential for the country’s comprehensive development.”
Prof. Manjit Singh, the former acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, also commended the initiative. He said, “Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers. We extend a message of brotherhood and love from the Sikh community. We reflect on the teachings of Baba Farid Ji, who emphasized the respect for all faiths and seeing the light of Allah Taala in everyone. Events like this remind us that we gather for a shared purpose - peace and goodwill.”
Maulana A.R. Shaheen Qasmi, General Secretary of the World Peace Organisation, shared his thoughts, stating, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi's slogan of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' epitomizes unity in our society. This principle is embedded in Indian culture and is echoed in the Vedas, which advocate for people of all religions to walk together. Our progress as a nation can only be achieved through togetherness. Such gatherings remind us of the necessity for brotherhood and peace."
Father Norbert Hermann, Director of Sarva Dharma Maitri and the Catholic Arch Diocese, stated, "Today, we have convened individuals from all faiths to convey Eid Mubarak to our Muslim brothers while fostering goodwill and love within society. Our cultural ethos emphasizes respect for all religions, urging us to unite for peace and unity in our communities. Prime Minister Modi has consistently advocated for supporting every segment of society equally, and today’s event is a stride in that direction."
