Agartala, March 9 (NationPress) The national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), J.P. Nadda, stated on Sunday that the political landscape in India has evolved since Narendra Modi took office as Prime Minister, and that discussions about the anti-incumbency factor have become obsolete.
The Union Minister emphasized that the focus has shifted to the pro-incumbency factor, which explains why "the electorate has consistently favored the BJP in numerous elections".
Speaking at a large rally in Agartala, J.P. Nadda declared that the issue of anti-incumbency is now a thing of the past, as the populace is highly satisfied with the BJP, leading them to vote the party into power for a third consecutive term in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
He noted that during the 2014 Parliamentary elections, the BJP secured 17 crore votes, equating to 31.3 percent of the total, while in 2019, the party garnered 23 crore votes at 36.7 percent, and in 2024, they achieved nearly 24 crore votes, or 37 percent.
"The BJP has met the expectations and aspirations of the people, which is why the party has triumphed in the Gujarat Assembly elections six times, and has won in Madhya Pradesh for four consecutive terms, achieving a hat-trick in Haryana, as well as winning in Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, and several other states for two successive terms," J.P. Nadda remarked.
The BJP President highlighted that Prime Minister Modi sees himself as a ‘Pradhan Sevak’ (chief servant) of the nation, with party leaders and workers acting as ‘Sevaks’ for the people, providing services around the clock.
“The BJP is not driven by a hunger for power; instead, it is committed to serving the populace,” the Union Minister stated.
This Sunday’s grand rally was organized at the Swami Vivekananda Stadium to commemorate the second anniversary of the BJP 2.0 government.
J.P. Nadda asserted that the Tripura government has excelled across all sectors, including social welfare, tribal development, agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, connectivity, sports, housing, and water supply.
At the rally, Nadda introduced two initiatives aimed at supporting girls: the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana (MBSJ) and the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana (MKAY) in Tripura.
Upon unveiling these two new schemes, Nadda explained that under the MBSJ, if a girl child is born into a family below the poverty line, the government will deposit Rs 50,000 in her name as a bond.
When the girl turns 18, she will receive a total of Rs 10 lakh for educational and other uses.
The MKAY scheme provides scooters to 140 talented girls who are sitting for the Tripura board, CBSE, and ICSE examinations.
Reflecting on the previous CPI-M and Congress government in Tripura, J.P. Nadda accused both parties of colluding and being power-hungry.
He reported a 20 percent decrease in crime rates since the BJP-led administration took power in 2018.
He noted that Tripura ranks third lowest in crime rate according to the National Crime Record Bureau report.
Highlighting the achievements of the BJP government under Chief Minister Manik Saha, the BJP President stated that the Tripura government has processed 29 lakh e-files (digital files), setting a new record.
He mentioned that tax devolution from the Centre during the BJP's tenure has increased fivefold compared to the previous Congress-led UPA administration, rising from Rs 9,000 crore in 2014 to Rs 46,500 crore now.
Furthermore, grant-in-aid from the Centre to the Tripura government has risen by 73 percent from Rs 31,000 crore to Rs 54,000 crore, according to Nadda, who also serves as the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister.
J.P. Nadda highlighted that 25 crore families have been lifted above the poverty line due to the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, which has positively impacted Tripura, benefiting 24 lakh individuals.
He added that in organic farming, the state has made significant strides, with 20,000 farmers transitioning to organic methods. Nadda commended the current government led by Chief Minister Manik Saha for its comprehensive development initiatives, fostering peace, and working for the welfare of all communities.
