Mysuru, Nov 7 (NationPress) In a devastating event, a farmer lost his life due to an attack by a wild boar near Hadya village in Hullahalli hobli, located in Nanjangud taluk of Mysuru district on Friday.
The individual who died has been recognized as Rangaswamy, a 35-year-old resident of Hadya village. As per the local authorities, Rangaswamy was riding his motorcycle home when a wild boar, which had been concealed in the roadside foliage, unexpectedly charged at him.
The collision caused him to lose control and fall from his motorcycle, after which the boar attacked him.
Local residents, upon hearing his cries, swiftly arrived at the scene and discovered Rangaswamy severely injured, with multiple parts of his body injured by the boar.
Seeing the crowd, the boar retreated into the adjacent forest.
The villagers hurriedly transported Rangaswamy to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
A report has been filed at the Hullahalli Police Station regarding this incident.
Upon notification, Vinod Kumar, the Deputy Range Forest Officer of the Hullahalli Forest Division, along with his team, visited K.R. Hospital to gather information about the attack.
This unfortunate occurrence has raised alarms among local farmers, who are expressing concerns that attacks from wild animals -- which previously involved elephants, leopards, and tigers -- are now occurring with wild boars as well.

It is worth noting that earlier on the same day, another farmer lost his life due to a tiger attack in Mysuru district, Karnataka.
