How is BJP chief Nadda supporting disaster victims in Himachal?

Mandi, July 9 (NationPress) Defying the challenges posed by monsoon showers and thick fog, BJP President and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda made a significant visit to the disaster-stricken regions of Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Wednesday. He assessed the ongoing rehabilitation efforts and addressed the concerns of local residents by visiting their homes.

Mandi has suffered the most severe impact in the state following last week's series of cloudbursts and torrential rains that resulted in devastating flash floods.

During his tour, Union Minister Nadda visited Sainj, Pangliyur, and Baga villages located in the Nachan Assembly constituency.

Throughout the visit, he engaged with numerous families, striving to comprehend their challenges while expressing sorrow over the loss of both lives and property.

Additionally, he evaluated the extent of the damage in Thunag and conversed with locals about the destruction in the Karsog and Dharampur regions.

Accompanying him were the state's Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, along with State BJP President Rajeev Bindal.

Union Minister Nadda commenced his visit at Sundarnagar in Mandi district, where he reviewed relief and rescue operations with local authorities.

He urged officials to ensure that no negligence occurs in the relief efforts and that the state government's support reaches every affected individual promptly.

He assured that the Central government is collaborating closely with the state government and that essential resources are being delivered timely.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, Nadda met with Pushp Raj and Tilak Raj, who tragically lost their parents during the calamity that struck on the night of July 1.

Offering condolences to the affected families, the BJP President pledged that the Central government would spare no effort in their rehabilitation.

Moreover, he toured Thunag village in the Seraj Assembly constituency, represented by six-time legislator Jairam Thakur, where life has been severely disrupted.

Nadda listened attentively to the local population's issues and checked on the status of relief distribution.

He stated that the administration is working diligently to safely evacuate stranded individuals, provide temporary shelter, and ensure food and medicine availability.

Additionally, he reviewed health services in the relief camps.

The BJP President emphasized that once the relief and rehabilitation initiatives are completed, the restoration and upgrading of roads will be prioritized.

“Himachal Pradesh is vulnerable to natural disasters, and during such times, the government and society must unite. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central government is dedicated to assisting every affected individual. All necessary measures are being implemented to restore normalcy swiftly,” stated Union Health Minister Nadda, who hails from this hill state.

On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur remarked that whenever a natural disaster has struck Himachal Pradesh, “National President Jagat Prakash Nadda-ji has visited, spoken with the people, and facilitated financial aid from the Centre to address the aftermath of these calamities.”

According to the state government, 85 individuals have lost their lives, and 34 are reported missing due to the monsoon-related disasters in Himachal Pradesh from June 20 to the present.
