Amaravati, April 9 (NationPress) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took a jab at YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding his 'MAVIGUN' proposal, quipping, "It's fortunate he didn't propose the Vatican as the state capital."

To clarify, Vatican City is a sovereign city-state situated within Rome, Italy, serving as the spiritual and administrative heart of the Roman Catholic Church.

During a public gathering in Bapatla district, Naidu criticized the former Chief Minister for proposing the 'MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur) corridor as the capital of the state.

He asserted that Amaravati is destined to be the sole and permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh.

“Amaravati's development is unstoppable, even in the face of opposition from individuals like you,” the Chief Minister declared.

He emphasized that 49 parties in the Parliament supported the legislation to formally recognize Amaravati as the exclusive and permanent capital. Naidu pointed out that not only NDA allies but other parties also backed this initiative.

According to Naidu, the YSR Congress Party was the only group opposing the Bill. “While we used to label a leader as a psycho, now the entire party has adopted that label,” he commented.

Naidu remarked that YSRCP claims to champion women's dignity, yet the same party has disrespected women from Amaravati and attacked his wife in the Assembly.

“This group, demonstrating erratic behavior, engages in irrational discussions. They have launched unprovoked attacks on a newspaper and harassed women. This party is not in a position to justify its actions,” he stated.

He accused them of attempting to undermine the state, urging citizens to unite against such threats. “The state has already endured substantial losses due to its bifurcation and the actions of past leaders. We are just beginning to rebuild it,” he commented.

Naidu likened the terrorists hiding in forests who strike and flee to Jagan, who he claimed operates from a distance, spreading false information and then retreating.

“We are amenable to constructive criticism, but they propagate lies by stating that Rs. 2 lakh crore is being allocated for Amaravati. In reality, Amaravati is a self-sustained initiative,” he noted.

He pointed out that YSRCP frequently refers to Vijayawada, Guntur, and Machilipatnam but fails to recognize that this entire region falls under the jurisdiction of the CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority).

“Their aversion to even mentioning Amaravati has led them to create turmoil and distress among the public. I could swiftly have individuals like this detained, but I will allow the law to run its course,” he stated.

“If those bent on destruction are permitted to roam freely, can the citizens, particularly the women of this state, ever feel truly safe?” he questioned.

Chandrababu Naidu concluded that it is in the best interest of the populace to disregard such parties and individuals.
