Naresh Meena's Bail Request Denied After Incident with SDM During Rajasthan By-elections

Jaipur, Dec 13 (NationPress) The bail request of Naresh Meena, an Independent candidate from the Deoli-Uniyara Assembly constituency during the Rajasthan by-elections, has been denied. Meena is currently in custody for allegedly slapping an SDM, alongside other accusations.

The Uniara Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Judge Surabhi Singh, denied Meena's bail on Friday.

His bail application, submitted on December 7, was considered on Thursday, with the ruling postponed until the following day.

This decision follows serious allegations against him, including slapping Malpura SDM Amit Chaudhary, hindering government operations, committing arson, and fleeing police custody.

On November 13, during the by-election in Samravata village (Tonk), Naresh Meena led a protest with local residents, alleging coercive practices by officials at the polling booth.

When he tried to access the booth, SDM Amit Chaudhary intervened, resulting in a confrontation during which Naresh purportedly slapped the SDM.

The situation intensified when police sought to detain Naresh that night. Clashes erupted between villagers and law enforcement, leading to the use of lathicharge, tear gas, and aerial firing to disperse the crowd.

Over 50 individuals were arrested that night, including Naresh Meena, who was apprehended the following day at the protest site.

On November 15, Naresh appeared in court through video conferencing, while 52 other defendants were physically present in Niwai court, where they were all remanded to judicial custody.

Recently, four minors involved in the incident received conditional bail, but bail for others, including Naresh, was denied.

According to Uniara Deputy S.P. Raghuveer Singh Bhati, a total of 63 individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Among those detained, four were minors. The violent clashes resulted in injuries to 26 police officers.

Additional Public Prosecutor of the ACJM Court confirmed that Naresh Meena's bail plea was rejected under applicable legal provisions.

Legal proceedings for the other individuals involved continue, with stringent actions being taken against those accused of violence and disruption.
