Varanasi, July 19 (NationPress) The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports officially launched a two-day Youth Spiritual Summit at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre in Varanasi, themed 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' (Drug-Free Youth for a Developed India).

This summit aims to utilize the strength of spiritual values and youth leadership to tackle drug abuse, marking the initiation of a nationwide youth-driven campaign for a drug-free India.

The event has attracted participation from various organizations dedicated to drug de-addiction throughout the nation. Young delegates attending the summit expressed that this initiative is timely and transformative for the youth of the country.

Sumit, a young participant from Varanasi, stated, “This is crucial, as many youths are falling into the trap of substance abuse. It's vital to promote awareness.”

Darsh, another attendee, echoed this sentiment, saying, “This program is a significant step forward. It will undoubtedly help raise awareness among young individuals and inspire them to avoid addiction.”

“The youth represent the future of India. Nothing can be accomplished without them,” remarked Nilag Agarwal, another youth delegate.

“Promoting awareness through such initiatives is essential. 'Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat' will certainly contribute to achieving our national objectives,” he added.

Manwar Singh Rawat emphasized, “Spreading awareness is crucial. Intoxication is incredibly detrimental, and this summit is a much-needed endeavor.”

The summit is set to host several dignitaries, including Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, and Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nikhil Khadse, along with senior ministers from Uttar Pradesh.

The event will conclude on July 20 with the unveiling of the 'Kashi Declaration', a document outlining a strategic action plan for achieving a drug-free India.

Over 500 youth delegates representing more than 100 spiritual and socio-cultural organizations from across the country are participating in this summit.

Structured as an immersive experience in learning and leadership, the summit will feature four plenary sessions focusing on the psychological and social impacts of addiction, strategies for dismantling drug networks, grassroots activism, and the creation of a roadmap for a 'Nasha Mukt Bharat'.

These sessions will include expert keynote speeches, interactive workshops, and whiteboard forums aimed at fostering youth-led innovation.

Set against the spiritual backdrop of the River Ganga, the event is designed to blend cultural engagement with policy dialogue, forming a collective resolve rooted in India’s traditions and moral heritage.
