Recently, a 22-year-old woman approached law enforcement, claiming she was sexually assaulted by her husband and his friends on their wedding night. She reported that the assault occurred last year.
The Begumpet police registered a case based on her statement and commenced an investigation. Reports indicate that the suspects are currently on the run.
The woman initially sought help at the Kukatpally police station, but her case was transferred to the Begumpet police station, as the alleged crime falls within its jurisdiction.
She resides with her widowed mother and younger sister in Kukatpally.
According to her, a 28-year-old man from the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh had occupied their rented accommodation. He developed a relationship with her, and they married on July 28, 2025, at the local sub-registrar’s office in Kukatpally.
On their wedding night, they reportedly moved to a rented residence in Begumpet. The husband allegedly invited five friends over that night, where they drank alcohol and coerced her into consuming it as well.
She stated that while she was incapacitated, her husband and his friends sexually assaulted her.
