Bengaluru/New Delhi, Oct 9 (NationPress) In a significant move to tackle women's issues at the grassroots, the National Commission for Women (NCW) is set to conduct a "Rashtriya Mahila Aayog - Aapke Dwar" – Women’s Public Hearing in Bengaluru. This hearing aims to address and resolve unresolved cases concerning women while ensuring swift redressal of their grievances.
As stated by the Commission, this public hearing is scheduled for October 13, commencing at 12 noon at Sambhrana Sabhangana, located within the Correctional Institutions Campus on Dr. M.H. Marigowda Road, Bengaluru.
The event will feature Vijaya Rahatkar, the Chairperson of the National Commission for Women. Key officials, including District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police, will also be present to facilitate the effective and timely resolution of women-related cases.
Vijaya Rahatkar will be visiting Bengaluru over three days, from October 12 to 14, 2025. During this period, she intends to hold review meetings with senior police and administrative officials and engage with the Chief Secretary and other senior state government figures.
To foster digital empowerment among women, the NCW is implementing the 'YASHODA AI' Programme, aimed at training women across India in Artificial Intelligence. A training session for women will be conducted in Bengaluru as part of this initiative.
Furthermore, the Commission will launch a “Campus Calling” program in Bengaluru, aimed at raising awareness among youth regarding women’s rights and gender sensitivity.
During her visit, the Chairperson will engage with representatives from social organizations and civil society. Additionally, she will partake in an Anti-Human Trafficking Program, organized alongside Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, aimed at enhancing awareness and sensitivity among frontline officers about this grave social issue, emphasizing their vital role in preventing trafficking and assisting victims.
