New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) The National Defence Academy (NDA) conducted the Convocation ceremony for its 149th Course on Saturday at the Habibullah Hall located in Pune's Khadakwasla.
Ajay Kumar, the Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), was the Chief Guest who presided over the event.
He was welcomed by Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, the Commandant of NDA.
The ceremony commenced with the presentation of the Academic Report for the Autumn Term 2025 by Vinay Deep, the Officiating Principal, who emphasized the academic achievements and milestones reached by the graduating cadets.
A total of 328 cadets graduated as part of the 149th Course.
Among them, 216 cadets received Bachelor's degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
This group included 72 cadets from the Science Stream, 92 from the Computer Science Stream, and 52 from the Arts Stream.
During his Convocation Address, the UPSC Chairman congratulated the graduating cadets on completing their demanding training at one of the world’s leading tri-service military academies, as noted by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in their press release.
He also expressed gratitude to the parents and families for encouraging their children to join this esteemed institution and serve the country.
Additionally, 18 cadets from Friendly Foreign Countries were also honored with degrees during the ceremony, underscoring India's robust defense cooperation and training partnerships.
Furthermore, 112 cadets from the B.Tech Stream (Navy and Air Force) received their three-year course completion certificates.
These Naval and Air Force cadets will be granted their B.Tech degrees after completing an additional year of training at their respective pre-commissioning academies, namely the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala and the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.
The convocation also celebrated academic excellence.
Cadet Kartik Maheshwari from 'M' Squadron excelled in the Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.11, earning the Commandant's Silver Medal and the COAS Rolling Trophy.
Cadet Ananya from 'G' Squadron led the Computer Science Stream with an FGPA of 8.36, receiving the Commandant's Silver Medal and the Admiral's Rolling Trophy.
In the Social Science Stream, Cadet Anurag Gupta of 'B' Squadron achieved the highest FGPA of 7.44 and was awarded the Commandant's Silver Medal and the CAS Trophy.
Cadet Vishwesh Bhalerao of ‘F’ Squadron topped the B.Tech stream with a CGPA of 8.05, receiving the Commandant's Silver Medal and the CIS Trophy.
