This initiative was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2015 with the objective of ensuring the educational and financial security of girls.

Upon reviewing various projects under the NDMC, Chahal mentioned that he has reached out to the District Magistrate (New Delhi) to address the documentation issues affecting the remaining 2 percent of girl students who have not yet been registered under the scheme.

He highlighted that to attain 100 percent enrollment under the program, the NDMC has set up special camps in schools in collaboration with banks and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), as well as conducted awareness initiatives for parents.

While assessing the progress of ongoing development projects, Chahal reiterated that 'Viksit Bharat @2047' is a transformative vision by PM Modi aimed at evolving India into a developed nation by the centenary of its independence.

This initiative emphasizes inclusive development, sustainable advancement, effective governance, and notably, the active involvement of the youth, he stated.

During the meeting, he instructed that development work should be accelerated. He urged departments experiencing delays to hasten their efforts and comply with established timelines.

All departments were directed to operate in a timely and systematic fashion, accompanied by regular monitoring, he mentioned.

He also emphasized that special attention must be paid to ensure that repair or upgrade work in NDMC schools does not interfere with students’ learning.

In addition to the promotion of solar energy, Chahal announced that a survey has been commissioned to assess the optimal utilization of solar energy within the NDMC area.

The NDMC also resolved to extend its initiative of night sweeping and cleaning in Khan Market to other markets.

Chahal further called for enhanced maintenance of public toilets, mandating strict and consistent monitoring of all contract-operated Public Toilet Units (PTUs).

He noted that there are 356 public toilet facilities within the NDMC area and that all these facilities are free of user charges.
