New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) A historic milestone is reached as 917 female cadets join the NCC Republic Day Camp-2025, which kicked off at Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment, with a Sarva Dharm Pooja on Monday.

In total, 2,361 cadets from across all 28 States and eight Union Territories are attending this month-long camp, as stated by Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, DG NCC.

The group includes 114 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, alongside 178 cadets from the North East Region (NER), showcasing a microcosm of “Mini India”, according to an official statement.

Furthermore, cadets and officers from 14 Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) will also partake in this camp as part of the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP).

Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh expressed his welcome to the cadets, congratulating them on their selection for this prestigious NCC camp.

He urged the cadets to exemplify the highest standards of character, integrity, selfless service, comradeship, and teamwork, transcending barriers of religion, language, and caste in the spirit of Nation First.

The Republic Day Camp aims to foster a sense of patriotism, discipline, and leadership among the cadets. This annual event provides cadets with invaluable training opportunities, cultural engagement, and participation in social service initiatives, thereby promoting unity and national pride.

On November 24, the NCC, recognized as the world’s largest uniformed youth organization established in 1948, commemorated its 76th Raising Day.

During this solemn event, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh laid a wreath and honored fallen heroes on behalf of the entire NCC community at the National War Memorial, India Gate, New Delhi.

In his address, the Defence Secretary highlighted that the NCC has made remarkable strides in increasing its cadet strength by 300,000 and is on track to reach 2 million in the coming years.

He underscored the NCC’s crucial role in the Viksit Bharat Campaign, a significant initiative by the Government of India. He stated, “NCC continues its relentless efforts towards shaping today’s youth into responsible citizens for tomorrow, striving to fulfill the vision of ‘Yuva Shakti – Viksit Bharat’.”
