Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak at the annual National Cadet Corps (NCC) PM Rally on Wednesday at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi, where he will share insights on prioritizing the nation and fostering character development, as stated by an official.
This year’s NCC PM Rally will serve as the grand finale of the month-long NCC Republic Day Camp 2026, which saw participation from 2,406 cadets nationwide, including 898 young women.
Additionally, 207 youth and officers from 21 foreign nations will join the celebration, according to the official.
The rally’s theme, ‘Rashtra Pratham - Kartavya Nishtha Yuva’, emphasizes the essence of duty, discipline, and national dedication among India’s youth, as noted in a statement released on Tuesday.
During the event, a lively cultural performance will be showcased by NCC cadets, along with participants from the Rashtriya Rangshala and National Service Scheme, highlighting their contributions to nation-building, social service, and character enhancement.
Previously, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the camp, recognizing NCC cadets as the nation's secondary line of defense.
He encouraged the youth to find motivation in their crucial role during public awareness efforts, notably when mock drills were conducted nationwide during Operation Sindoor.
Speaking to the cadets at the NCC Republic Day Camp in Delhi Cantonment, the Defence Minister remarked, "In these uncertain times globally, our youth must stay robust—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and be ready to face any challenge."
Recalling Operation Sindoor, Singh stated, "The Indian Armed Forces effectively neutralized terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, delivering a strong response to the tragic terrorist incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Our soldiers acted with bravery and restraint, targeting only those who caused us harm."
The Defence Minister praised the NCC as an outstanding platform to elevate youth, who in return, provide invaluable support to nation-building.
He remarked that the NCC cultivates discipline and patriotism in cadets while assisting them in overcoming issues related to a 'lack of focus'.
He further stated that the NCC imparts patience, persistence, and concentration, which are essential for facing life's significant challenges, fulfilling the nation's great responsibilities, and building character.
This focus, Singh added, is evident in all aspects of their lives, whether they choose to join the Armed Forces or pursue careers as doctors, engineers, teachers, scientists, administrators, or politicians.
