Patna, July 18 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new Amrit Bharat trains in the Motihari district of Bihar on Friday, alongside the launch of several development initiatives exceeding Rs 7,200 crore.
The Amrit Bharat trains are set to enhance rail connectivity and offer a comfortable travel experience for commuters. They will operate between Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) and New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari and Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal), Darbhanga and Lucknow (Gomti Nagar), and Malda Town to Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) via Bhagalpur.
Danapur Divisional Railway Officer Jayant Kumar Chaudhary shared insights with IANS regarding the launch, detailing how these trains will benefit thousands of daily travelers.
The inaugural Amrit Bharat Express (train number 22361) will depart from Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna) at 7:45 p.m. and arrive in New Delhi the following day at 1:10 p.m.
On the return journey, the train (number 22362) will leave New Delhi at 7:10 p.m. on August 1 and reach Rajendra Nagar Terminal by 11:45 a.m. the next day, covering a distance of 1,005 km in 16 hours and 25 minutes.
Mr. Chaudhary also provided information about the train schedule, mentioning that it will halt at Patna, Danapur, Ara, Buxar, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (DDU), Subedarganj (near Prayagraj), Govindpuri (near Kanpur), and Ghaziabad.
Moreover, he noted that the non-AC Amrit Bharat trains, designed similarly to Vande Bharat, will ensure a comfortable journey for the general populace.
With a maximum speed of 130 km per hour, these trains will operate at full speed on suitable rail segments. The sleeper class fare is set at Rs 700, making it economical for travelers.
The train consists of 22 coaches, including 12 sleeper, eight general, and two luggage coaches, equipped with modern amenities such as mobile charging points, bio-toilets, and comfortable seating.
