NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, announced that in December 2025, the railway achieved a remarkable total freight loading of 0.952 million tonnes (MT), reflecting an impressive 8.4 percent increase compared to the same month last year.
For the fiscal year up to December, NFR recorded a cumulative loading of 8.250 million tonnes, surpassing the previous year's total of 7.729 million tonnes, which indicates a growth of 6.7 percent.
Sharma noted that several commodities experienced notable increases in December 2025 in comparison to December 2024. Cement loading skyrocketed by 148.0 percent, while fertiliser loading surged by 350.0 percent. Dolomite and container loading increased by 14.6 percent and 13.3 percent, respectively.
In the 'Others' category, stone chips saw a rise of 92.6 percent, and miscellaneous loading improved by 350.0 percent. These figures indicate a heightened demand and a greater movement of construction materials throughout the region.
