New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has submitted a chargesheet against A. Alfasith, a principal suspect in the ISIS Tamil Nadu radicalisation and conspiracy case, for allegedly endorsing extremist ideology and attempting to enlist susceptible youth into the terror organisation's ranks. The chargesheet was presented to the NIA Special Court in Poonamallee, Tamil Nadu, on July 25.

Alfasith, who resides in Mayiladuthurai, is facing accusations under Sections 153A and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, alongside Sections 13 and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The NIA claims that Alfasith was intricately linked to a network of radicalised Islamists, including infamous ISIS supporters Mohammed Ashik and Sathik Batcha, who have previously been implicated in multiple terror-related inquiries in Tamil Nadu.

During its investigation, the NIA uncovered substantial evidence indicating that Alfasith and his associates disseminated incriminating ISIS-related videos, documents, and images via social media channels, targeting hundreds of young Muslim boys.

“They established several WhatsApp and Telegram groups, such as 'Islamic State' and 'Black Flag Soldiers,' to facilitate unlawful activities that jeopardise the unity, security, and communal harmony of the nation,” stated the NIA in a press release.

One of the Telegram channels followed by Alfasith, 'nashida33' (also known as “Al Wala Val Baro”), was utilized to acquire ISIS propaganda materials aimed at advancing the terror group's global ambitions.

The NIA has noted that Alfasith played a pivotal role in attempting to radicalise hundreds of youths by glorifying the so-called Islamic State’s activities and ideology.

“Their mission was to propagate ISIS ideology and radicalise the vulnerable youth,” the NIA asserted.

This chargesheet represents a crucial advancement in the ongoing investigation under case RC-03/2024/NIA/CHE.

The NIA continues its inquiry to uncover the broader network and deeper conspiracies behind the radicalisation efforts in Tamil Nadu.

It is important to highlight that in recent months, the NIA has intensified its efforts against the covert groups and individuals in Tamil Nadu connected to a larger terror conspiracy affiliated with ISIS.

Similarly, several such individuals have already been apprehended by the NIA.
