Nottinghamshire, Aug 30 (NationPress) Nottingham Forest has secured the signing of Nicolo Savona from Juventus on a five-year contract, as confirmed by the club on Saturday.
The 22-year-old defender, who has been with the Turin giants since he was eight, made his debut for The Old Lady in August 2024, accumulating 40 appearances across all competitions.
During his time in Serie A, Savona played 28 matches and adds valuable European experience to Trentside, having participated in seven Champions League games during the 2024/25 season.
Primarily a right-back, Savona is also capable of playing in central defense and has taken on left-back duties while with the 36-time Italian champions.
His commendable performances earned him a call-up to Luciano Spalletti’s Italy squad for the UEFA Nations League in November 2024.
With the addition of Douglas Luiz, Savona becomes the second player to move from Juventus to Nottingham Forest this summer.
Upon joining, Savona expressed, “I am extremely thrilled to be here. This is a new chapter both personally and professionally. It’s a historic club, and this move is truly a dream fulfilled. I can’t wait to perform in front of the fans at the City Ground, and I will give my all for this shirt.”
Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson commented, “Nicolò has gained invaluable experience at Juventus last season, and we’re delighted he is taking this next step with us. He’s a versatile player who strengthens our defensive options, and we believe he will thrive here at Forest. He understands the expectations of playing for a significant club and is eager to make an immediate impact. We are excited to have him in our squad.”
