Nottingham, June 21 (NationPress) - Nottingham Forest has officially confirmed that Nuno Espirito Santo has extended his contract with the club. The head coach has been awarded a new three-year agreement leading up to the 2025/26 season.
Nuno orchestrated an astonishing 2024/25 campaign for Forest, propelling the team to its best league finish in three decades and securing a spot in the UEFA European competition for the first time since the 1995/96 season.
“I am thrilled to continue this journey at such a remarkable football club. Since our arrival at Forest, we have dedicated ourselves to forging a unique connection among the players, fans, and everyone at the Club, which allowed us to achieve remarkable feats last season,” Nuno expressed in a statement.
“I extend my gratitude to our owner, Mr. Marinakis, for his unwavering support and encouragement. It is crucial for me to maintain a solid relationship with our ownership, and we have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating since my arrival at Forest. Now is the time to intensify our efforts as we aim to create even more unforgettable moments together,” he added.
Last season, Nuno led Forest to historic away victories against Liverpool and Manchester United for the first time in 55 and 30 years, respectively, while also achieving the club’s longest winning streak in the top flight since 1967.
His exceptional performance earned him three Premier League Manager of the Month awards—more than any other manager in the 2024/25 season—after triumphs in October, December, and March.
“Nuno has had a significant impact and performed exceptionally well during his time with us. He has proven his ability to maximize player performance and is adept at developing talent while integrating our young players into the first team,” remarked Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
“We share a strong and solid relationship, and above all, we have a common dream and ambition to forge a new history for Nottingham Forest, competing in the Premier League and Europe, and winning trophies for our esteemed club!”
