Bhubaneswar, May 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, on Thursday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for four significant industrial projects and twenty new initiatives in the Kalinganagar region of Jajpur district. This initiative entails a substantial investment of Rs 1,15,000 crore and holds the capacity to generate 36,000 jobs, marking a pivotal advancement towards establishing Odisha as a premier industrial hub in India.

During a special ceremony, CM Majhi stated, “With the initiation of industrial projects valued at Rs 1.15 lakh crore in Jajpur, we are not just laying foundation stones; we are crafting our future. This initiative will create 36,000 employment opportunities, empowering our youth to thrive in their homeland. Within just 113 days, we have transformed commitments into tangible progress.”

He emphasized that this accomplishment reflects his government’s determination, commitment, and belief in action over mere words.

During the event, the Chief Minister revealed that the MoUs for the projects, for which foundation stones were laid, were signed during the Make-in-Odisha conclave in January.

Majhi remarked that Kalinganagar now stands as the economic backbone of a self-sufficient Odisha.

“Guided by Prime Minister Modi’s vision, we reaffirm that Odisha is not only a land of heritage but one filled with endless opportunities and industrial prowess,” he declared.

The state government, in an official announcement, mentioned that this foundation stone laying event occurs just four months post the Utkarsh Odisha conclave, illustrating the administration's steadfast commitment to swiftly convert investment intentions into actionable results.

The projects are strategically positioned in Kalinga Nagar, Danagadi, and Badachana within Jajpur district, further reinforcing the area’s role as a crucial segment in Odisha’s industrial growth corridor.

These initiatives encompass essential sectors such as steel, ferro alloys, chemicals, solar energy, refractory materials, automotive components, warehousing, and food processing.

Among the inaugurated projects, the highlight is the Tata Steel Ltd’s 5 MTPA Integrated Steel Plant (ISP) expansion in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur, with a massive investment of Rs 47,599 crore, promising 4,625 jobs.

Other significant projects include JSL Group’s petroleum and solar power project valued at Rs 470 crore, and Abis Exports India Pvt Ltd’s poultry feed plant, which could generate 850 jobs.

The groundbreaking segment is led by the Rs 61,769 crore steel plant expansion by Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL), which is set to become one of the largest steel manufacturing units in the area, creating 14,000 direct jobs.

This event was attended by notable figures such as Minister of Industries Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister of Textiles, Handlooms & Handicrafts Pradeep Bal Samanta, MP Jajpur Rabindra Narayan Behera, and other senior officials and industry leaders.
