Bhubaneswar, June 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, officially inaugurated 12 industrial ventures with a total investment exceeding Rs 28,000 crore during a notable ceremony held in Chhatrapur, located in the Ganjam district. These projects encompass a variety of sectors, including green hydrogen, chemicals, and renewable energy, marking a significant industrial shift for the area.
“This is a landmark moment for the industrial growth of Ganjam, paving the way for new opportunities and prosperity within the district,” Majhi expressed during the event. He further highlighted that these initiatives are expected to create more than 15,000 job opportunities in the locality. Additionally, he praised the achievements of the ‘Make in Odisha 2025’ initiative, revealing that the state has garnered investments totaling Rs 1.5 lakh crore within just four months, leading to the creation of approximately 90,000 jobs.
CM Majhi also pointed out that substantial projects worth Rs 70,000 crore were recently initiated in Kalinganagar, Jajpur district, along with Rs 50,000 crore in Dhenkanal. “Today, we take another significant step with investments nearing Rs 30,000 crore in Ganjam. Our goal is to develop a thriving Odisha by 2036,” he affirmed.
The Chief Minister reiterated the vision of establishing a port-centric industrial ecosystem in Odisha, stating, “Alongside the existing three ports, we plan to develop an additional 3-4 ports. The central government has sanctioned infrastructure projects worth Rs 1 lakh crore for railway and highway development. Odisha will also see the construction of 75,000 km of top-tier roads and various industrial corridors,” he mentioned.
CM Majhi expressed his belief in the youth of the state as the catalysts for Odisha’s transformation. “To fulfill the increasing demand for skilled labor in contemporary industries, we will establish four World Skill Centres. In collaboration with Singapore’s ITEES, we will offer advanced skill training, and all ITIs are being modernized to provide up-to-date education,” he concluded.
