How the Incident Unfolded
According to local sources, Swain and his friend Om Prakash Rout were travelling towards Bhubaneswar when they encountered two girls riding a scooter. While overtaking the vehicle, Swain's motorcycle allegedly struck the scooter, reportedly triggering a heated argument near a bridge at Ramachandrapur under Balianta police limits. Villagers from a nearby area rushed to the spot, reportedly to assist the girls, and subsequently assaulted both Swain and Rout, tying their hands and legs with a rope.
Upon receiving information, a police team reached the location, rescued the two men, and rushed them to Capital Hospital, where Swain was declared dead on arrival.
