"Due to claims of possessing assets disproportionate to his verified income, we executed simultaneous searches at the residences of Raja Kishore Jena, Assistant Engineer in the Roads and Buildings division-III, across ten sites in both Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh," stated a Vigilance representative.
The targeted sites included Jena's ancestral home in Jagannathprasad of Nayagarh district, his office, as well as properties belonging to his in-laws, shops, and other assets in Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh.
A total of ten teams from the Odisha Vigilance, comprising seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Inspectors, one Sub-Inspector (SI), and eleven Assistant SIs, conducted the searches under the authority of search warrants issued by the Vigilance Court of Special Judge in Bhubaneswar.
The anti-corruption unit reported uncovering properties valued in the crores, linked to Jena and his family. Among these findings were a multi-storeyed building in Niladri Vihar and two lavish flats in Bhubaneswar.
Additionally, Jena is reported to own two shops located in Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall and Symphony Mall, along with 13 high-value plots, nine in Bhubaneswar, three in Nayagarh, and one in Khordha districts.
He has also allegedly invested approximately Rs 75 lakh in bank, postal, and insurance deposits, along with spending around Rs 67 lakh on his children’s education at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences.
