Bhubaneswar, March 7 (NationPress) – On Saturday, the Odisha Vigilance executed coordinated searches at seven properties associated with Pramod Ray, the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Derabish Irrigation Sub-Division within the Kendrapara Irrigation Division, as confirmed by officials.
This operation was initiated following accusations that Ray owned assets that were disproportionate to his legitimate income sources.
The search operations were conducted under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, in Cuttack, as part of an inquiry into suspected illicit wealth accumulation.
A substantial team from the Odisha Vigilance has been mobilized for this initiative. This team comprises two Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs), nine Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), nine Inspectors, four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and additional support staff.
The synchronized raids span multiple districts, including Kendrapara, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, and Bhubaneswar.
According to vigilance officials, searches are actively being conducted at seven sites linked to the engineer.
Among these locations is a four-storeyed structure in Johala, situated in the Balianta area of Bhubaneswar, and a double-storeyed building in Jajabhairab within Chaudwar, Cuttack district.
The teams are also inspecting his family home located in Ragadi in the Banki region of Cuttack. Furthermore, searches are ongoing at the residence of a relative in Budanga, Bhadrak.
Another site under investigation is his office chamber and temporary residence at the Derabish Irrigation Office in Kendrapara, which is associated with his official duties.
Vigilance officials indicated that the residences of relatives in Sanasathiebatia, Dhenkanal district, and Patia, Bhubaneswar, are also included in the ongoing searches.
The objective of these coordinated raids is to collect evidence pertaining to the allegations of the engineer amassing wealth that exceeds his declared income.
As of the latest reports, the search operations are still in progress, with officials expecting to release further details once the raids are concluded and the findings evaluated.
