Quetta, Oct 14 (NationPress) A tragic event unfolded in the Zehri district of Balochistan as six Baloch civilians, including four children, lost their lives and three others sustained critical injuries due to an aerial assault by the Pakistani Army, as reported by a prominent human rights organization on Tuesday.
This region has been grappling with a severe human rights crisis amid ongoing military operations.
Expressing deep concern, Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, indicated that the aerial bombardment on October 5 targeted the Moola Pass area in Charhi, leading to the tragic loss of six innocent lives.
The deceased have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed, his two children, his nephew, and Bibi Rahima along with her child. The injured individuals include Rahima's daughter and son, who are reportedly in critical condition.
Paank vehemently condemned this brutal attack on civilians, demanding an immediate independent investigation to hold accountable those responsible for these serious human rights violations.
Another rights organization, Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ), condemned the killing of innocent civilians, stating, "This incident represents a serious violation of fundamental human rights and has instilled fear and anguish within the local community. The intentional use of force against unarmed civilians is intolerable under any circumstances."
Moreover, the rights body urged international human rights organizations, including the United Nations Human Rights Council, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, to launch a transparent, independent, and impartial investigation into the ongoing state brutality in Zehri.
Earlier on Monday, voicing alarm over the circumstances in Zehri, Tara Chand, President of the Baloch American Congress, asserted that the cruel Pakistani Army is not engaging with "armed combatants" but is targeting ordinary citizens.
Chand accused the Pakistani forces of demolishing homes, bombing residential areas, and inflicting unbearable suffering on innocent families. He noted that the people of Zehri are deprived of basic necessities, including water, food, medicine, and education.
Taking to X, the Baloch leader urged, "The world must acknowledge the cruelty and oppression faced by innocent people in Zehri. We call upon the international community to support the people of Balochistan, as the Pakistani Army is committing egregious atrocities in our land."
