Kabul, April 13 (NationPress) Reports from local media indicate that Pakistani forces carried out rocket strikes in the Shali Dara area of Khas Kunar district, Afghanistan, on Monday.

Following these attacks, local residents expressed feelings of panic in the surroundings. However, no immediate information concerning casualties or damages has been disclosed, as reported by Khaama Press, a prominent Afghan news agency.

As of now, Taliban officials have not issued any public statements regarding this incident. Notably, similar military actions have previously been documented in Afghanistan's border provinces.

This recent escalation in conflict occurred after discussions between Pakistani officials and the Taliban in Urumqi concluded without reaching any agreements.

On April 3, the Chinese government reported that negotiations between Afghanistan and Pakistan were making steady progress.

During a press briefing on April 3, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning noted that the consultation process between the two nations is ongoing and advancing smoothly.

When questioned about the Pakistan-Afghanistan discussions, Mao Ning stated, "In light of the renewed conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan, China has undertaken mediation efforts, maintaining close communication with both parties across various channels and levels, thereby creating conducive conditions and platforms for dialogue. Both nations appreciate and welcome China's mediation and are open to further discussions, which is encouraging. The consultation process is progressing steadily, and the three parties have reached common grounds and agreements on specific issues related to the process, including media reports. We will provide further information as it becomes available."

Recent months have seen a significant rise in tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, largely due to Pakistani airstrikes and artillery fire, which have tragically resulted in numerous fatalities in the war-affected regions of Afghanistan.

On April 2, Afghanistan's Minister of Economy, Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, revealed that over 27,000 Afghan families across nine provinces have been forced to flee their homes due to military actions by Pakistan, as reported by local media.

During a coordination meeting with representatives from United Nations agencies and national and international organizations on April 2, Hanif stated that Pakistan has engaged in hostile activities against Afghanistan in recent months, according to Pajhwok Afghan News. He further highlighted that at least 27,344 families have been displaced in provinces including Nuristan, Zabul, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, and Kandahar.

Hanif pointed out that many of these displaced families currently lack access to essential needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare. While he acknowledged that the Taliban has initiated measures to tackle the economic and livelihood challenges faced by the displaced, he called upon UN agencies and partner organizations to extend humanitarian aid.

He criticized the use of heavy weaponry in civilian areas, which has led to civilian casualties and the displacement of hundreds of families, labeling these actions as serious humanitarian violations and contrary to Islamic principles.

Hanif made these statements during a meeting convened by Afghanistan's Ministry of Economy titled 'Coordination on Mobilizing Emergency Assistance from United Nations Agencies and National and International Non-Governmental Organizations for Internally Displaced Persons Affected by Recent Bombardments.' The meeting witnessed participation from representatives of various domestic and international organizations.
