Did Palash Sen Experience Nostalgia in Pushkar While Reflecting on ‘Raja Rani’ After 22 Years?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 20 (NationPress) Celebrated for his memorable hits like “Maeri”, “Phir Dhoom”, and “Aana meri gully”, musician Palash Sen embarked on a nostalgic journey as he returned to Pushkar after nearly two decades, revealing how this visit helped him comprehend why fans often feel sentimental about his band’s music.
Recalling moments from the picturesque town where the famous song “Raja Rani” was filmed 22 years ago, the artist expressed that as soon as he arrived, a flood of memories and images came rushing back. He shared a clip from his visit, discussing the song and the essence of his band.
In the post, he wrote: “Now I understand... People often tell me they feel nostalgic when they listen to Euphoria’s music.. That Euphoria has been a part of their growing-up years.. I always wondered why.. Then I returned to Pushkar after 20 years.. The moment I stepped on this soil, I felt it.. The memories, the visuals, the nostalgia.. Raja Rani has a cult following.. And I believe I am its biggest fan.. If you haven't experienced it yet, it’s never too late to feel nostalgic.”
In the video, he mentioned that Raja Rani is a sweet narrative he created, focusing on relationships, stating he devoted his life to writing songs about male-female dynamics.
The singer also pointed out that while he has addressed social issues in his music, many may not realize that Euphoria is the only rock band in India to have produced a complete bhajan album, showcasing their eclectic musical styles.
“Indeed, I have composed songs addressing social concerns. We also have a bhajan album. Many may not know that Euphoria stands as the only rock band in this nation with a full-length bhajan album. Our musical approach has always been diverse, appealing to fans of various genres.”
Discussing the growing obsession with physical appearances in contemporary culture, Palash remarked that portraying unrealistic standards for women is neither respectful nor dignified, and certainly not love.
“Today, everything exaggerates how a woman should appear, how she should walk, what her waist should be like, and how her body should be shaped. I find this perplexing because it is not respectful, it lacks dignity, and it is certainly not love.”
He emphasized that his band, Euphoria, has consistently sung about love, primarily focusing on “mostly unrequited love.”
“I firmly believe that unfulfilled love often deepens.”
Recalling beautiful memories of Pushkar, he shared: “I cherish my time in Pushkar. My sons, Kinshuk and Kaustav, were there. When we had a concert, they had already connected with the crew. Kinshuk was around six or seven, and Kaustav was about four or five—they were so young back then.”
“This hotel we stayed in was called Pushkar Palace, or something similar. We've returned, and it has developed significantly, yet it was very basic back then. Still, it offered me immense comfort. Just being here evokes such fond memories. I’m filled with nostalgia for Euphoria.”
