Mumbai, June 1 (NationPress) Playback artist Palash Sen is honoring the memory of the late singer KK on the anniversary of his passing. On Sunday, Palash shared two nostalgic photographs with KK on his Instagram account.
The first photo captures a moment between him and KK, while the second one features them alongside fellow playback singer Shaan on the set of a sketch comedy program.
In a heartfelt caption, he expressed, “Three years since you departed, and I believe you are in a far happier and peaceful realm now... I’ve always said this.. my career is thanks to you. You will eternally be the greatest singer India has ever known. As I prepare to take the stage tonight, I’ll hold a prayer in my heart and dedicate this performance to you.”
“I’ll sing your song tonight, keeping you in my thoughts, my brother. Missing you. Love you, my bro !! Mera yaar. Immortal KK,” he wrote.
All three artists introduced a unique sound to Hindi film music in the 1990s, presenting a new texture distinct from the likes of Udit Narayan or Kumar Sanu, who were the dominant figures in Hindi music at the time.
While KK and Shaan thrived in mainstream Hindi cinema music, Palash Sen carved his niche in the indie pop genre.
KK tragically passed away on May 31, 2022, following a performance at a college festival at Nazrul Mancha in South Kolkata. After the concert, he returned to his hotel in Esplanade, where he complained of feeling unwell en route. He suffered a cardiac arrest upon reaching the hotel, and despite attempts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI). He was only 53 years old.
The upcoming film ‘Metro In Dino’ is resonating deeply with fans of the late singer, as the ‘Metro’ series is renowned for featuring KK’s melodious voice.
