Amaravati, Dec 24 (NationPress) Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan made a heartfelt visit to Ippatam village in Guntur district on Wednesday to fulfill a promise he made three years earlier to meet an elderly woman.

He arrived at the home of Indla Nageswaramma and kindly inquired about her health.

The elderly woman embraced the leader of the Jana Sena Party and offered her blessings. Kalyan announced a financial aid of Rs 50,000 for her, along with an additional Rs 1 lakh for her grandson’s education.

Furthermore, he pledged to provide Rs 5,000 monthly from his salary to support her.

In November 2022, the actor-turned-politician had previously visited the village to speak with residents whose homes were demolished for road expansion.

There were claims that their houses were destroyed by the previous YSR Congress Party government as a reprisal for providing land for a public meeting held by Jana Sena on its formation day on March 14, 2022.

During his prior visit, Nageswaramma had urged him to return after his electoral victory, to which he agreed.

Having secured power in 2024 alongside TDP and BJP, Pawan Kalyan honored his vow by visiting the village on Wednesday.

Upon reaching Nageswaramma’s residence, Kalyan informed her that her eldest son had come to see her. He expressed that he had wanted to visit earlier but was unable due to official engagements.

“Today, to uphold the promise I made to you, I’ve postponed all my commitments and come for you,” he stated.

Pawan Kalyan warmly embraced her and engaged in heartfelt conversation.

The Jana Sena leader noted that during the previous administration, Nageswaramma’s house was demolished out of spite for giving land for a Jana Sena gathering.

He recalled her resilience against the injustices of the former rulers, asserting that her son, Pawan Kalyan, would visit.

Pawan Kalyan reminisced about his prior visit to the village and the assurances he made.

Nageswaramma had expressed her desire for him to return to her home after his electoral win.
