"Today, over four thousand followers of Lord Bhole Nath have embarked on their journey in the inaugural batch for a glimpse of Baba Barfani," stated L-G Sinha.
The sacred journey to the revered Amarnath cave has commenced with the joyful chants of "Bam Bam Bhole" echoing in the surroundings.
Devotees gathered in significant numbers at the base camp, brimming with emotion and anticipation.
"I feel fantastic, and I am thrilled to be part of the first group. There is no fear or worry since we have the protection of our Army and our leaders," expressed one devotee.
Another commented, "There is immense enthusiasm among the first batch of pilgrims, and I urge all devotees to make the journey for the darshan of Baba Amarnath at least once in their lifetime."
This annual pilgrimage, a significant spiritual event in the Hindu calendar, will witness lakhs of devotees trekking to the high-altitude cave shrine nestled in the Himalayas over the upcoming weeks. Preparations by the administration this year have been extensive, ensuring a secure and smooth experience for all participants.
L-G Sinha praised the efforts of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, the administration, and security forces. "The Jammu and Kashmir administration, local community members, and the Shrine Board have made outstanding arrangements for the Yatra. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces have enforced rigorous security measures," he noted.
Security along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, especially near Ramban, has been significantly enhanced. Additional forces, surveillance systems, and checkpoints have been established in the area. Only verified vehicles are permitted to pass through crucial points to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.
In addition, amenities such as medical assistance, sanitation, food distribution, and emergency response services have been organized along the route. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has collaborated with various agencies to oversee crowd flow and weather conditions, guaranteeing the safety and comfort of devotees throughout the yatra.
