New Delhi, Nov 5 (NationPress) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal conveyed a positive outlook on the prospect of creating even more “Successful Kiwi–Bharat Stories”, emphasizing a mutual vision for enhanced collaboration across various sectors.

He praised the diligent efforts of the vibrant Indian diaspora and asserted that shared values, culture, and aspirations are continually bringing India and New Zealand closer, setting the stage for a robust and forward-looking partnership.

During a community gathering at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre in Auckland on his official visit, Goyal expressed his gratitude to New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon for attending and celebrating the India–New Zealand partnership.

Luxon highlighted New Zealand’s strong backing for India’s rise as a global economic force, mentioning that India is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

The Prime Minister noted that the India–New Zealand relationship is founded on mutual respect, fairness, and a collective vision for prosperity, describing the Indian diaspora as “bridges” that reinforce the ties between the two nations.

Goyal also engaged in an interactive session dubbed “Tea with Indian Business Delegation”, alongside prominent Indian business leaders. He praised the largest-ever Indian business delegation visiting New Zealand for their active involvement in strengthening bilateral economic connections.

Discussions underscored the expanding opportunities for collaboration between the two economies, especially in sectors such as agriculture and food processing, wood and forestry, technology, and innovation.

Business leaders commended India’s progressive policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which include the Production Linked Incentive Schemes and the Startup India initiative, enabling Indian businesses to expand globally.

Goyal urged Indian firms to remain steadfast, as it is the entrepreneurial spirit and innovation of the populace that truly propel growth and deepen partnerships.

Earlier, Goyal urged both nations to explore innovative paths for cooperation to enhance their economic relationship. He emphasized the vast potential for collaboration across key sectors like maritime, forestry, sports, education, technology, and tourism.

He pointed out that this was the inaugural visit to New Zealand by such a significant business delegation from India, reflecting the confidence and dynamism of Indian industry in alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Regarding the ongoing India–New Zealand FTA negotiations, Goyal emphasized that discussions are progressing with mutual respect and a shared commitment to achieving balanced results.

The Minister highlighted that New Zealand stands to gain from accessing India’s extensive and swiftly growing market, while India can utilize New Zealand’s technological expertise and specialized capabilities to foster mutually beneficial cooperation. He also recognized the crucial role of the Indian diaspora in bolstering New Zealand’s economy and enhancing cultural and interpersonal connections.
