He also introduced the Rs one lakh crore Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme Fund, which aims to enhance India's scientific and technological prowess.

While addressing the audience, PM Modi remarked, "Today's event centers on science, but first, I must acknowledge the historic triumph of the Indian women's cricket team. The whole nation beams with pride over their stunning accomplishment. I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the players who have represented India so brilliantly."

Reflecting on India's recent achievements in space exploration, the Prime Minister noted, "Yesterday, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched the Indian Navy’s GSAT-7R (CMS-03) communication satellite. I commend ISRO and all the scientists involved in this mission. Today signifies another significant milestone for our scientific community. The need to explore emerging innovations led to the inception of this conclave, which is now a reality."

Emphasizing India's expanding global role in innovation, PM Modi stated, "We take pride in having Nobel laureates present with us today. The pace of scientific advancement is no longer linear but exponential. Our government has initiated the Rs one lakh crore RDI Scheme Fund to create new research and development opportunities. We aspire to foster innovation across both public and private sectors. To establish a modern innovation ecosystem, we are prioritizing the 'ease of doing research.' In this context, our government has already reformed financial regulations and procurement policies to bolster scientific progress."

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who also spoke at the event, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for his vision and support. "ESTIC 2025 is taking place during a period when the global perception of India has evolved. For decades, our scientists lacked proper facilities despite their tremendous talent. Under PM Modi’s leadership, we are on the trajectory to achieving a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). Our advancements in startups, Gaganyaan, biotechnology, and vaccines have positioned us as the world’s fourth-largest economy," he stated.

He also highlighted that the startup ecosystem has flourished beyond metropolitan areas, with innovative enterprises emerging from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

A short film showcasing the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme was presented during the event.

Earlier that day, PM Modi took to social media to express that the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 at Bharat Mandapam will unite key stakeholders from the realms of science, education, and research.
