New Delhi, Oct 1 (NationPress) IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal has expressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep passion for cricket continues to have a positive impact on the sport.

Following India's exhilarating five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, PM Modi conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the Men in Blue for their remarkable achievement.

In a post on X, he stated, “#OperationSindoor on the games field. The result remains unchanged – India triumphs! Congratulations to our cricketers.”

When questioned about the effects of such high-profile attention on cricket, Dhumal told IANS, “Cricket is undoubtedly viewed as a legendary sport, intricately woven into the fabric of every citizen’s life. The Prime Minister’s tweet congratulating the team serves as a significant source of inspiration for the players, driving them to excel even further. The Indian team must feel honored that the world’s most popular leader watched the match and recognized their efforts.”

In response to PM Modi’s congratulatory message, India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav remarked that it is uplifting to know that the nation’s leader himself “bats on the front foot.”

Reacting to Yadav's comment, Dhumal stated, “The team’s mentality exemplifies true leadership. When leadership resonates globally, it significantly impacts the citizens. It influences both our team and our captain.”

“Observing this leadership, the way the team performed remarkably, embraced challenges, and tackled them was extraordinary. I extend my warmest congratulations to them,” he added.

The IPL chairman further commended Suryakumar's captaincy and Tilak Varma’s sensational innings of 69 not out, highlighting, “The team showcased brilliance under pressure. The last match was highly competitive, but their composure and patience were admirable.”
