New Delhi, March 9 (NationPress) The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has emerged as a significant relief for the lower and middle-class families, effectively reducing their high electricity bills while also making them 'proponents of green energy'.

In the Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh, numerous beneficiaries of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana spoke with IANS, highlighting the positive changes in their lives thanks to this innovative initiative.

This flagship program of the Modi administration aims to deliver affordable and clean electricity to countless households by encouraging the installation of rooftop solar panels.

Sanjay Mishra, Principal of Central Academy School and a recipient of the scheme, mentioned that he learned about the initiative through newspapers.

“I quickly seized the opportunity. I had a solar plant set up at my home, and it has been nearly a year since its installation,” he stated.

He noted that his electricity expenses have significantly decreased as a result. He praised the government’s program for fostering cleaner and greener energy in the nation and urged all citizens to benefit from this initiative.

The installation of the solar plant cost him approximately Rs 2 lakh, but he received Rs 78,000 back from the government as a subsidy.

In a fascinating twist, he revealed that his school student, Shubh Gupta, motivated him to install the plant.

“There are no maintenance costs associated with the plant. Despite the heavy use of refrigerator, cooler, and AC, I used to face exorbitant electricity bills. Since the solar plant was installed, my electricity bill is now zero compared to before,” he remarked.

Nitin Baderia, another beneficiary from Shahdol, stated that he learned about the scheme through the media and subsequently installed a 3 KV plant costing around Rs 2.30 lakh.

He shared that his previous electricity bills often exceeded Rs 10,000, but following the installation, his current bill is now under 50 percent of that amount.

He encourages everyone to take advantage of this program since it requires no maintenance and will further the green energy movement initiated by the Prime Minister.
