PMAY-U 2.0: Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav Announces Construction of Over 8 Lakh Homes

Bhopal, December 12 (NationPress) Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced on Wednesday that a total of 10 lakh housing units have received approval under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0, with construction of 8.25 lakh houses already finalized.
He stated that the state has consistently held a top position nationally throughout the implementation of the initial phase of PMAY in urban regions.
"Of the total budget of Rs 43,300 crore allocated for the first phase of housing development, Rs 22,800 crore has been distributed to beneficiaries thus far. Additionally, Rs 23,600 crore has been received from the central government," Yadav remarked.
This announcement was made during a gathering in Ujjain at the launch of 'Jan Kalyan Parv', commemorating one year of his administration in Madhya Pradesh.
He highlighted that numerous urban local bodies in the state have been awarded at the national level for their successful implementation of the PMAY initiative and other welfare programs by both the central and state governments.
He emphasized that the success of PMAY (2.0) in its initial phase is attributed to several innovative measures introduced by the state government to facilitate housing at affordable prices.
Furthermore, he assured that the benefits of this scheme will extend to those beneficiaries who have not yet availed themselves of the housing assistance for any reason.
In addition, Kailash Vijayvargiya, the state's Minister for Urban Development and Housing, mentioned that he has directed the department's field staff to ensure the effective execution of the scheme.
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2.0, a flagship initiative of the central government, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 of this year.
This initiative aims to construct one crore homes across the nation, with a target of 10 lakh houses specifically in Madhya Pradesh.
