Upon inspection, officers recovered five grams of heroin along with a vehicle registered under the number HR26BD/2045. The suspect was promptly taken into custody, and the illegal substance was seized in accordance with legal protocols.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station City under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. The police added, “Ongoing investigations are focused on uncovering connections within the drug trafficking network. The J&K Police have intensified their operations against drug smugglers, peddlers, and individuals involved in hawala transactions and other illicit financial activities, which are believed to fund terrorism within the union territory.
Authorities have also begun seizing properties of drug traffickers and hawala operators, following court orders, and those implicated are detained under the UAPA.
