Jaipur, June 20 (NationPress) In a significant victory against drug trafficking, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Rajasthan Police successfully confiscated a large consignment of poppy husk valued at around Rs 1.5 crore.
Following a reliable tip-off, the AGTF, in collaboration with Chaksu police, halted a container truck on the highway and seized nearly 1,000 kg of poppy husk.
The operation was conducted under the direct guidance of ADG (Crime) Dinesh MN, with Inspector Ram Singh Nathawat leading the team.
Key intelligence was provided by Head Constables Mahesh Somra and Mahavir Singh Shekhawat, instrumental in establishing the blockade.
Acting on precise information indicating that a truck carrying a substantial amount of illegal poppy husk was heading to Jaipur, a strategic checkpoint was established on the Chaksu highway.
The targeted vehicle was successfully intercepted. A thorough inspection revealed that the container was laden with nearly 1,000 kg of poppy husk. This seizure, valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore, stands as one of the largest recent captures in the region.

Last month, on May 28, the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), Jaipur Cell, seized 150 grams of illegal MD (Mephadrone) and apprehended an individual near Station Road, Jaipur Railway Station.
In response to specific intelligence about MD smuggling for local distribution, a specialized team from CBN Jaipur was deployed on May 27, 2025.
The team intercepted the suspect on Station Road close to Jaipur Railway Station. A detailed search of his belongings revealed 150 grams of Mephadrone (MD) secreted in two polythene packets hidden beneath the insoles of his sports shoes.
After completing all necessary legal formalities, the confiscated substance was secured under the appropriate provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, leading to the suspect's arrest.
