Key Takeaways
Jaipur, March 23 (NationPress) In a significant operation named ‘Operation Trinetra’, the Pratapgarh Police, headed by Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, confiscated more than 762 kg of illegal doda-chura (poppy husk) after an intense confrontation with drug traffickers. This haul is valued at over Rs 1.14 crore in the global market.
As reported by the police, the District Special Team (DST) managed to halt a suspicious pickup truck close to Dhariyawad. When the officers tried to stop the vehicle, the smugglers broke through a blockade, crashed into a police jeep, and fled towards Udaipur.
During the pursuit, the suspects reportedly fired 15-16 rounds at the police, intending to harm them.
In a counter-response, police units surrounded the vehicle, compelling the smugglers to abandon it in the woods near Arampura and escape into the night. A search of the abandoned vehicle uncovered 38 sacks of doda-chura along with a live cartridge.
This operation was executed by a dedicated team that included Trainee RPS officer Shakti Dayma, SHO Hazarilal Meena, and DST head Pratap Singh.
A case has been filed at the Dhariyawad police station, and efforts are underway to locate the fleeing suspects. Additionally, the Pratapgarh Police have taken measures to disrupt the financial operations of drug traffickers, freezing assets worth Rs 1.12 crore in compliance with the NDPS Act.
This action is focused on two suspected smugglers -- Shahrukh Khan and Dilawar Khan, who reside in Hathuniya and were apprehended in December 2025.
Financial investigations disclosed that the illicit earnings from MD drugs, smack, and opium were funneled into constructing two luxury homes valued at Rs 50 lakh each and the acquisition of a Scorpio SUV worth Rs 12 lakh.
With approval from the SAFEMA Authority in Delhi, the properties were officially frozen on March 23, and seizure notifications have been issued.
Numerous cases pertaining to drug trafficking are lodged against the accused across Delhi, Jaipur, and Madhya Pradesh.
SP B. Aditya emphasized that the crackdown on narcotics will persist vigorously, with stringent actions taken not just against smugglers but also against those who assist them or profit from illegal activities.
