President Murmu Calls on Indian Diaspora to Support Viksit Bharat Initiative

Bhubaneswar, Jan 10 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu on Friday highlighted the potential of the Indian diaspora to make substantial contributions towards the realization of India's vision of Viksit Bharat – a developed India by 2047, marking a century of the nation’s independence.
During the concluding session of the three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Convention, President Murmu stated: "Our country is currently progressing towards Viksit Bharat – a developed India – by the year 2047. This is a National Mission that calls for the active and enthusiastic involvement of every Indian, including those overseas. The Indian Diaspora is a vital component of this roadmap. Their global footprint bestows upon them a unique outlook, and their accomplishments empower them to play a crucial role in shaping a developed India."
She also remarked that the Indian diaspora embodies the finest qualities of our nation.
Furthermore, the President acknowledged that the Indian diaspora carries not only the expertise and skills acquired in their homeland but also the values and traditions that have underpinned Indian civilization for centuries.
According to President Murmu, the Indian diaspora has made significant strides in sectors such as technology, medicine, arts, and entrepreneurship, earning global recognition and respect.
She expressed her satisfaction that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention has evolved into a forum where ideas flourish, collaborations are nurtured, and the connections between India and its diaspora are fortified.
Referring to India's ancient philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the President emphasized that this vision aims to create a framework that not only addresses our needs but also enhances global welfare.
President Murmu stated that India aspires to be a nation that harmonizes economic development with social equity and environmental responsibility, ensuring a prosperous future for upcoming generations.
She asserted that the Indian Diaspora is poised to play a crucial role in fulfilling this vision.
"We celebrate the successes of our Pravasi Bharatiya family. We must also look ahead with optimism and resolve. Together, we can construct a Viksit Bharat, a nation that stands proudly on the global platform and continues to illuminate the world," stated President Murmu.
Offering her congratulations to the recipients of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman-2025, the President remarked that this accolade signifies India's acknowledgment of the remarkable contributions of its diaspora.
She noted that their success stories are not only a source of pride for India but also motivate countless individuals worldwide to pursue excellence.
Additionally, she congratulated Christine Kangaloo, President of Trinidad and Tobago, for receiving the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award this year, recognizing her exceptional leadership and focus on women and the Indian diaspora, which has set a high standard globally.
Importantly, Murmu awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman to 27 overseas Indians and organizations from nations including the US, Fiji, Guyana, Mauritius, Moldova, Myanmar, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
