Indian Diaspora Expresses Strong Optimism for PM Modi's 'Viksit Bharat' Initiative

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) Delegates from various parts of the world gathered for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's keynote address at the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) convention on Thursday in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The sentiment among the Indian diaspora was one of enthusiasm, as they embraced his vision, expressing optimism for a more developed and progressive India by 2047.

Sushant Satapathy, a representative from Chicago, reflected on PM Modi's appeal for increased involvement from the diaspora.

"PM Modi stated we are an extension of India and have a vital role to fulfill. Maintaining our connection and contributing to the betterment of our homeland is essential. Advancing technology, tourism, and trade is achievable, and by 2047, India will be significantly more developed than it is today," he noted.

In his address, PM Modi celebrated the Indian diaspora as "ambassadors to the world" and highlighted their pivotal role in India’s objective to emerge as a global leader.

Emphasizing India's democratic values, PM Modi proclaimed, "India is not just the 'mother of democracy,' but democracy is interwoven into our culture."

Annapurna Devi Pandey, who has resided in California for 35 years, shared her admiration for the Prime Minister's message.

"Listening to him was truly inspiring. He addressed significant issues, emphasizing inclusivity, diversity, and India’s strength as the fifth-largest economy. We feel immense pride as Indians, and it’s heartening to see India's progress," she expressed.

Razik Wakil, a delegate from Saudi Arabia, conveyed his enthusiasm for the event. "The event was splendid, and the atmosphere was electric. What Modi ji conveyed was exceptionally well-received. We all value his efforts on both international and domestic fronts," he remarked.

During the occasion, PM Modi also launched the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special tourist train under the Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana, designed to connect diaspora members with India’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

The convention was attended by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, among other distinguished guests. The event commenced with an engaging performance by three-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej.
