Shivamogga, Sep 9 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have filed an FIR concerning the chanting of “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans during the Eid-e-Milad procession held in Bhadravathi town within the Shivamogga district on Tuesday.
A video capturing this incident circulated widely on social media, prompting Hindu organizations to call for strict measures against those involved.
The police initiated a suo motu case and established three specialized teams to look into the situation.
Shivamogga SP G.K. Mithun Kumar informed the media that the police department received a 12-second video at 8:30 a.m. that day, which has also gained significant traction online.
The footage depicted individuals chanting pro-Pakistan slogans.
“An FIR related to this was promptly filed at the Bhadravathi Town police station. We are currently working to identify those featured in the video. An investigation is underway to determine who filmed it, where it occurred, and when. Three special police teams, each led by an inspector, have been formed to delve into this matter. The video has been forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis, and necessary actions are being taken,” stated SP Mithun Kumar.
“We registered the FIR without awaiting a formal complaint. The police have recorded the procession, utilizing drone technology to ensure comprehensive coverage. Rigorous action will be pursued,” added the SP.
Union Minister for Food, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi commented, “Pakistan is in dire straits, lacking basic necessities for its citizens, yet here we have individuals shouting pro-Pakistan slogans.”
He recalled a similar occurrence, noting, “No action was taken when such slogans were raised at Vidhana Soudha, which has only encouraged extremist elements.”
Responding strongly to the incident, BJP MP K. Sudhakar remarked, “When a Congress member was elected to the Rajya Sabha, his supporters shouted pro-Pakistan slogans within Vidhana Soudha. If they can do this in such a prominent place, they can certainly chant the same on the streets.”
Former BJP MP Pratap Simha expressed, “Karnataka is operating under a Taliban-style regime, and such incidents are occurring. The government has dismissed UAPA cases linked to the Hubballi incident and the DJ Halli–KG Halli violence, believing they can act freely as long as CM Siddaramaiah is in power.”
BJP MLC C.T. Ravi stated, “The occurrences across Karnataka should not be viewed as isolated. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, in his book 'Partition of India or Thoughts on Pakistan', clearly outlines the Muslim perspective. There is no possibility for coexistence; only believers and non-believers exist.”
