New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) The Defence Ministry's Project Veer Gatha 5.0, aimed at motivating students by showcasing the courageous deeds of Gallantry Award Winners, achieved a remarkable 1.92 crore registrations from students this year, exceeding last year's tally of 1.76 crore, as reported by an official on Saturday.

Initially launched in 2021, the initiative garnered only 8 lakh registrations, according to an official statement on social media.

As part of Veer Gatha 5.0, Super-100 Winners have been selected from various schools across the nation. These winners will receive Rs 10,000 and the chance to attend the #RepublicDay2026 Parade as special guests.

Students participating in Veer Gatha 5.0 expressed their creativity through poems, paintings, essays, videos, and more, honoring the valor and sacrifices of the Armed Forces.

They were also encouraged to delve into the unyielding spirit and military tactics of India's historic warriors, such as King Kharavela of Kalinga, Prithviraj Chauhan, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Warriors of 1857 – the First War of Independence, and leaders of various tribal uprisings, as stated.

In another event, the Indian Army's Southern Command organized a Weapon and Equipment Display by the #WhiteTigerDivision at Jhansi and Babina Military Stations to celebrate the 78th Army Day. This event was attended by over 350 NCC cadets, students, and civilians, according to an official.

The display highlighted the Indian Army's technology-driven combat capabilities and the spirit of Atmanirbharta that is shaping the modern battlefield, inspiring pride, patriotism, and a deeper understanding of military service among the youth, stated the official.

Continuing the Army Day celebrations and extending the ethos of selfless service beyond operational duties, a Donation Drive was held at Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar Military Cantonment under the Wall of Kindness Initiative, reaffirming the Indian Army's commitment to humanitarian outreach and nation-building, he added.

In another development, the Golden Katar Division conducted a Weapon and Equipment Display at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) in Gandhinagar, showcasing modern combat capabilities, integrated battlefield systems, and advanced weapon platforms, underscoring the operational readiness of the Indian Army.

This display presented a unique opportunity for students to learn about new-age weapon systems and engage in meaningful discussions on the evolving nature of the battlefield. The interaction helped students gain insights into the Army's operational ethos, disciplined culture, and core values of service, preparedness, and commitment to national security, the statement concluded.
