New Delhi, May 13 (NationPress) The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, revealed on Tuesday that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 is set to recommence on May 17, with the final match scheduled for May 25.
In a post on X, Naqvi stated, "HBL PSL X resumes with a bang. Six teams, zero fear. Prepare for eight exhilarating matches starting on May 17, leading to the Grand Final on May 25. Wishing all teams the best of luck!"
The tournament had been suspended indefinitely last week due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
Currently, the updated schedule and venues are yet to be confirmed, but they will be announced soon. It is anticipated that the remaining eight matches will take place in Pakistan, as franchises are keen to wrap up the season promptly.
According to an ESPNcricinfo report, the PSL held discussions with franchise representatives on Monday regarding possible dates and locations for the upcoming matches. A significant concern is the availability of overseas players, many of whom may not return. This uneven availability could impact team dynamics, as some franchises seem more optimistic about the return of their international players. To tackle this issue, the PCB is contemplating a replacement draft to fill any gaps.
Furthermore, this information indicates that Bangladesh's tour of Pakistan will not adhere to the previously scheduled timeline. The PSL final coincides with the date when Bangladesh was meant to play the first T20I against Pakistan in Faisalabad. The BCB has indicated that conversations about the tour are "active and ongoing."
Initially, Bangladesh was set to compete in five T20Is in Faisalabad and Lahore from May 25 to June 3.
