Yavatmal (Maharashtra), Sep 13 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Saturday that the Central government has launched significant initiatives aimed at integrating the tribal community into the broader framework of development, allocating a substantial Rs 1 lakh crore for this purpose.

He emphasized that various schemes are in motion to enhance facilities such as housing, infrastructure, electricity, water supply, hostels, and employment opportunities for the tribal populace in Maharashtra. Fadnavis asserted that a profound transformation in the lives of tribal people is expected within the next three years. His remarks were made during the launch of development projects amounting to Rs 335 crore in Yavatmal.

The Chief Minister detailed plans to expedite the construction of homes for 54,000 families, establish piped water systems, and set up hospitals and hostels for the tribal community.

“The initiatives introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for tribal development have yielded notable successes. Approximately 366 villages in the district have been chosen under the Adi Karmayogi Yojana, aiming to train 30 lakh youth in the state and foster local leadership,” he remarked.

He further noted that the government is committed to a timely program to resolve pending applications for compassionate recruitment, with nearly 15,000 youth set to be appointed on this basis.

“The establishment of a 35 MW solar power project is enabling agricultural operations to receive electricity for 12 hours daily. Additionally, there are plans to provide free electricity to farmers for ten hours a day. The necessary funds for essential services in Yavatmal district will not be a constraint,” he stated.

Addressing the damages caused to agriculture, homes, and livestock in Yavatmal district, he assured that compensation will be disbursed promptly.

As per the government release, the Chief Minister inaugurated development projects worth Rs 335 crore in Yavatmal, which includes five hostels and various initiatives of the Tribal Development Department valued at Rs 51 crore, Rs 67 crore for Public Works, 11 solar power projects, and additional works under the Chief Minister's Solar Energy Channel Scheme worth Rs 158 crore, along with various projects totaling Rs 59 crore from other departments.
