New Delhi, Dec 14 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, spoke at a party rally against “Vote Chori” on Sunday, reiterating his claims of electoral fraud by the BJP and their alleged collusion with the Election Commission of India (ECI).
"They engage in vote theft," Gandhi asserted, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of granting complete immunity to Election Commission officials by altering the law.
During his speech at Ramlila Maidan, he specifically named the Chief Election Commissioner and the two other Election Commissioners, asserting that PM Modi has declared that no actions can be taken against them regardless of their conduct.
While avoiding direct mention of the ruling party, Gandhi alleged that during the voting process, they distribute money, specifically Rs 10,000.
"They seem assured only while in power," he remarked, echoing Mahatma Gandhi’s belief that truth is paramount.
"I assure you that by supporting the truth and respecting the principles of Hinduism and all faiths that honor truth, we will oust them from power," he declared.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed these sentiments, claiming that the BJP and RSS are spreading divisive ideologies, while the Congress remains dedicated to its principles and aims to remove the BJP from leadership.
He accused BJP officials of acting theatrically and claimed they are incapable of matching Rahul Gandhi’s accomplishments, such as his extensive 8,000 km yatra, engaging with the underprivileged, and showing concern for their welfare.
Referring to the Congress party’s strong performance in the recent local elections in Kerala, Kharge led chants of “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhor” and “Vande Mataram”, urging the populace to confront the BJP boldly, with every Congress member contributing to the effort to remove those who have gained power through vote theft.
He further stated that the BJP intends to strip the underprivileged of their voting rights and maintain power through unethical practices.
Kharge pointed out that the BJP often claims that Rahul Gandhi travels abroad following parliamentary sessions, yet PM Modi himself embarks on foreign trips during the parliamentary schedule without addressing questions posed by the Leader of the Opposition and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
The Congress president encouraged party members not to be intimidated by the investigative agencies purportedly targeting them.
Kharge remarked that the BJP and RSS never participated in the freedom struggle, yet they are now attempting to mislead the public regarding Vande Mataram and the supposed tensions between former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
